Introduction

Sound Likes Linux is a project to learn more about sound production and editing on Linux.

In and around Ascii, there are quite a lot of people busy with sound on computers. Now that Linux sound applications are getting better and better, it is time to share our knowledge and help people to use open source software.

Some example uses:

  • You might be running a pirate radio station, wanting to put your signal on the internet.
  • You want to add a soundtrack to your website
  • You just made a radio interview and want to edit it a bit
  • You're making your own music using computers, and would like to do this on Linux

In this project, we use the Debian-based Ubuntu distribution as a basis. All installation tips will apply to Ubuntu, allthough tips for other distributions might be available too.
